Lessons
Will I need lessons?
Yes, if you're a beginner. Everyone on the open slope has to be able to control their speed and direction, and most people get there in about six lessons.
Here at Brentwood Park Ski & Snowboard Centre, everyone's safety and wellbeing is most important to us. We want everyone who takes part in any of our activities to be safe, and to feel safe, while having fun on the slopes. This means that open recreational practice requires the ability to control speed and direction when practising on any of the slopes at all times. This simple rule helps us maintain a safe and fun environment so everyone can enjoy their chosen activities.
Novice skiers and snowboarders, regardless of age, will need to have some lessons. Not only will you receive expert tuition while learning new techniques, you will also learn how to enjoy the mountains safely, and you will be skiing with people of a similar ability. Believe us, there's nothing more frustrating than being left behind by your friends or family when going skiing or snowboarding for the first time on snow.
If you've got the hang of skiing or snowboarding, and maybe even had a couple of holidays without any lessons, it doesn't mean there isn't any tuition out there for you. Even instructors are always learning.
After a few weeks on the slopes you'll have an understanding of what it is you enjoy about skiing or snowboarding, so why not enjoy more advanced lessons or a skills clinic? These lessons are often aimed at a specific technique, whether it's bump skiing (moguls), carving or even going through slalom poles. Advanced lessons don't mean you need to be skiing black runs. There are lessons for every level, and by taking them you can only learn to enjoy more of the mountain.
So whether you are heading out on your first ski trip or you are a seasoned pro, some lessons on a dry slope will prove invaluable and allow you to get a lot more out of your time spent on the mountain.
Whatever your level, age or tuition, Brentwood Park Ski & Snowboard School can make a real difference to your holiday. The more confident a skier you are, the more you can relax and enjoy the mountain.
